Boosting Your Finmo Security: Setting Up Two-Factor Authentication

Modified on Thu, 23 Jan at 2:38 PM

At Finmo, we prioritize the security of your account and transactions. That's why we encourage all our Merchants to enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

What is 2FA?

2FA adds an extra layer of security to your Finmo account by requiring two forms of identification before you can log in. This makes it significantly harder for unauthorized individuals to access your account, even if they have your password.

How to Enable 2FA:

1. Locate the 2FA Setting:

As shown in the screenshot, you can usually find the "Two-Factor Authentication" option:

On the login screen: Right above the login fields.

If you are already logged in, you can usually find it:

Under your Profile: In the security settings or account settings section.

2. Enable 2FA:

Scroll the bottom most section of the page and toggle the "Authenticator app" present and switch it to "On"  (as shown in the screenshot).

3. Set Up Your Authenticator App:

You'll be prompted to scan a QR code using an authenticator app on your smartphone or iPhone. Popular options include Google Authenticator, Authy, Microsoft Authenticator, etc.

4. Enter the Authentication Code:

Once you've set up your authenticator app, you'll be asked to enter a 6-digit code generated by the app during the login process.

By taking these simple steps, you can significantly enhance the security of your Finmo account and protect your business from unauthorized access.
